The Lieutenant skidded to a stop, the padded walls closing in around a sealed bulkhead with no way through. The Captain turned sharply, his rifle coming up as the dim light flickered overhead.

The Ensign’s breath came fast, each inhale muffled by the thick insulation. A deep shadow spilled into the corridor behind them, accompanied by the slow, deliberate scrape of claws along the padding. The hiss that followed left no doubt they were trapped...
