We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to Printable Scenery for creating the OpenLOCK system and generously making it freely available to the 3D printing community. Their innovation has helped countless designers and hobbyists build more versatile, modular terrain. Printable Scenery

Lv427-Designs has adapted the original concept into a hollow-frame base, removed unnecessary tabs to reduce the amount of clipping required, and opened the bottom for quick and easy access to the connectors.

This base is compatible with 95% of our rooms and corridors. We'll continue expanding the collection by creating bases for our more unique oddly shaped designs over time. If there's a specific design you'd like to see supported, please don't hesitate to contact us at:     sales@lv427-designs.com

Instructions:

  • Print the Open-Lock base with NO SUPPORTS with the opening facing upward.
  • If you printed our designs at a different scale, be sure to print the Open-LOCK bases and clips at the same scale for a proper fit.
  • Print the OpenLOCK clips. Use the standard clip for connecting rooms and the +1 mm longer clip when attaching corridors.
  • Print your terrain piece with NO SUPPORTS. We recommend printing small rooms and corridors first.
  • Lightly sand the top of the base and the bottom of the terrain piece.
  • Ensure the open side faces downward so glue can be applied across the entire base.
  • Apply glue, align the parts, and press together for 1–2 minutes.
  • Use 1, 2, or 3 OpenLOCK clips as needed, we recommend using just 1 clip.
  • When attaching one design to another, insert the Open-LOCK clips from one direction only, then complete that small row. Repeat the process for the next row, then connect the two completed rows together. Avoid trying to connect or disconnect a design using clips from two directions at the same time. Not every design needs to be clipped to an adjacent piece.

For fans who prefer a more permanent setup, the base and OpenLOCK clips can be glued to your terrain pieces, medium to large sized rooms, providing added strength and stability to the overall design.

For an inexpensive and reliable adhesive, we recommend this glue, commonly available at most dollar stores. "Via chem - fix-all cement - green package."

AGDITC Notes:

We are in the process of converting all the products for AGDITC designs line. (90% complete) The AGDITC system connects by section. Due to the irregular layout of the original game board. not every section is designed to connect directly to every other section. In an example, Lower Storage will not connect directly to Operations 1 or 2, but it can be placed beside it, which already makes the layout far more flexible. All of the Reactor sections align and connect correctly as do Operations 1 and 2.
