The Scout slipped into the narrow radio room, the air warm from the constant hum of aging equipment. The scent of burnt wiring clung to the air, mingling with the faint thump of footsteps somewhere deep in the corridors outside. Every message sent from here was a gamble—one call for help could just as easily bring the machines.
