The Enforcer led the way down the narrow stretch, the grated floor ringing beneath each step. Two doors waited ahead, one on either side of the corridor, their panels dark except for the faint glow of standby lights. The Sharpshooter kept close, sweeping his blaster from left to right, the stale air carrying the faint hum of the locking systems.

The alarms pounded through the walls, masking any sound from within. Scorch marks on the durasteel hinted at past violence, and the shadows around the door frames seemed to breathe. Choosing which to open first felt less like strategy and more like a gamble with lives on the line...
