The corridor stretched ahead in a narrow line, lit by the flicker of worn overhead strips. The Enforcer moved first, steps slow and measured, eyes locked on the single door halfway down the wall. The Sharpshooter followed, blaster held ready, scanning the shadows that clung to the grated floor.

The door’s surface was scuffed and scorched, the faint hum of its locking mechanism carrying down the hall. Somewhere behind it, machinery whirred in an uneven rhythm, almost lost beneath the distant wail of alarms. Every step toward it felt heavier, as if the air itself warned that whatever lay beyond was not meant to be opened...
