The Captain stepped into the vast chamber, its layout a maze of towering conduits and curved walls that wound in unnatural patterns. Pathways branched and twisted, vanishing behind partitions of dark alloy laced with slow, green pulses of energy. Overhead, cables and pipes hung like coiled serpents, some disappearing into shadow, others diving into the deck with a steady throb.
The air was cool and metallic, carrying the faint hiss of unseen systems at work. Every turn seemed designed to disorient, and the quiet weight of the Collective’s awareness pressed from all directions, as if the room itself was guiding intruders deeper into its heart...
