The corridor stretched ahead like a throat, walls slick with resin and twitching with unseen movement. The Sergeant took point, pulse rifle sweeping side to side. Every footstep made a wet sound against the organic floor.

Behind him, the Corporal checked the motion tracker. The beeping grew faster. Closer. The Technician muttered a warning. Heat signatures were everywhere but none were standing still. The air was thick, humid, and stank of death...
