In the corners, automated gun turrets sat dormant but ready, their barrels tracking slowly as the system cycled through security protocols.

The Sergeant kept his rifle trained on the entrances, uneasy with how exposed the team felt while the data download crawled forward. On a hostile world where answers were buried in broken logs and last transmissions, the central computer might be the only witness left alive...
