The Captain halted at the four-way junction, sweat beading beneath the helmet despite the cooling system. Steel support beams groaned above as if the mine itself resented their presence. It ran in every direction, disappearing into tunnels veiled in darkness and damp.

The Sergeant scanned the walls. Old mining crates, long abandoned, sat half-embedded in resin. The air reeked of metal and something sweeter—decay. It wasn’t just the mine that stretched out before them. The Hive had grown here, fed here...
