The Lieutenant moved cautiously down the padded corridor, the quilted walls swallowing the sound of his footsteps. The Captain advanced just ahead, scanning the dim, narrow path where the lighting flickered in uneven intervals.
The Ensign kept glancing over his shoulder, unsettled by how the silence seemed to press in on them. A faint ripple passed along the padding to their right, as if something moved beneath the surface. The Captain raised a hand to halt, his eyes fixed on the shifting bulge in the wall ahead...
