Each passage was a tunnel of shadow, the emergency lamps long dead, their glass cracked from old shockwaves.

The air smelled of rust, cordite, and the faint metallic tang of dried blood. Far off in one of the darkened routes, a servo whined and stopped, leaving the silence heavier than before. Four paths lay open, but none felt safe, and the next step could decide whether they made it back—or never left at all...
