The Enforcer slowed to a stop where four corridors converged, each one stretching into the cold, humming depths of the prison. The Sharpshooter swept his aim from passage to passage, eyes narrowing at the shifting shadows that danced in the flicker of failing lights. The alarms were deafening here, their echo bouncing from every direction until it was impossible to tell where the threat might come from.

The air carried the sharp tang of ozone, mixed with the faint stench of fear from unseen prisoners. Every path looked the same—steel, shadows, and danger—but only one would lead to the target, and every second they hesitated was another chance for the enemy to close in...
