The Corporal led the way into the narrow service corridor, its dim overhead strips flickering with each tremor from the hull. The Sergeant took position by the doorway, blaster raised, while the Lieutenant checked the maintenance schematics glowing faintly on the wall panel.

The air was thick with the smell of ozone and scorched wiring. Somewhere deeper in the ship, the muffled thump of boots on metal drew closer. This entry point was their last path to reroute power to the shields, but one wrong move here would trap them between the enemy and a dead end...
