The corridor was lined with metal-frame bunks, stacked three high along both walls. Thin mattresses, torn blankets, and scattered personal items told a story of a fast evacuation. The Sergeant moved through first, rifle raised. The Corporal followed close, sweeping a flashlight across empty sleeping spaces.

The Private paused beside a bunk. Claw marks scored the frame. The Technician checked a nearby terminal. All logs stopped at the same hour. No alarm. No message. Just silence...
